About Salto Dos Hermanas
Dos Hermanas (Two Sisters) is a pair of almost identical falls that drop side by side, framed by vegetation, on the Argentine side of Iguazú. It is not one of the giant cascades, and that is its charm: a more intimate view, with the rainforest right up against the water. The park itself describes it as twin drops viewed from a lookout surrounded by green.
You pass it on two walks. On the Upper Circuit you see it from above, along a route that is fully wheelchair accessible; on the Lower Circuit you see it from further down, among stairs and viewpoints. Years ago people could swim in the natural pool at its base, but that is now forbidden. There is no need to plan a separate visit: if you walk the circuits, you will come across it. It is worth stopping for a few minutes, as it makes a good spot for a break and a calm photo when the big viewpoints are crowded.
Local tip
For both perspectives, walk the Upper Circuit first to see it from above, then head down to the Lower one. The Upper Circuit works even with a stroller or wheelchair.
